Als professional zeevaarder vind ik trouwens het stukje wat een paar posts terug stond van die de kapitein van Dongfeng dat zijn bemanning moe was en te druk met zeilen om goed op de vissersschepen te letten rond uit schrikbarend, met een kapitein met zo'n instelling hoop ik nooit te hoeven varen.

Speculatie me dunkt.

Die VO schepen hebben hier en daar wat camera's hangen. Kan me niet voorstellen dat er geen "footage" beschikbaar is over het voorval...

Natuurlijk is er dat, net zoals toen Wouter Verbraak de Vestasboot op een rif navigeerde, of toen er een MOB was eerder deze race. Elke boot heeft tenminste een buitencamera achterop die de kuip bestrijkt en continu opneemt. Het lijkt de VOR alleen niet verstandig de opname ervan laten zien deze keer. Ze zullen deze echter wel moeten gaan afgeven op laste van politieonderzoek.

Maar blijkbaar niet aanstaan op dag van ongeluk

vestas heeft een 'statement' geplaatst op hun website ( kopie op VOR). Eigenlijk niets nieuws, ze geven wel aan dat er binnenkort meer info komt. Blijkbaar moet de zwijgplicht nog even verder aangehouden worden....

Uit het krantenbericht merk ik op dat indien er niet gevist werd motor voor zeil zou moeten wijken, evenwel wanneer er gevist werd het precies andersom was.
Qua schade lijkt het mij meer dat ze tegen de "lage" achterzijde van dit visvaartuig gekomen zijn waarbij de Vestas door het snelheidsverschil met de boeg op het achterdek terecht gekomen is, zeker gezien de schade onder de boeg/romp.
Wanneer er een VO met zijn neus op het achterdek van een visser ligt loopt m.i. zo'n visser snel vol water en zinkt.
Daarbij iemand raken die aan het werk is zorgt dan al snel voor behoorlijke verwondingen vervolgens iedereen overboord, die gewonde visser zwemt niet meer zo goed en verdrinkt jammerlijk.

Pure speculatie van mijn kant, just my 5ct.

Triest voor alle betrokkenen, ben benieuwd of de Chinese overheid de bemanning en het schip vrijgeeft hangende het onderzoek naar de toedracht.

Net gelezen:
Vestas doet niet mee aan de in port races en slaan iig Leg 5 over.

Als ze niet meedoen aan leg 5 missen ze 1 punt. (Elke deelnemende boot scoort 1 punt op deze leg.)

Ik ving begin deze week op dat de boot op transport gaat naar elders om gerepareerd te worden

Dus niet "Made in HongKong"

Kan me wel voorstellen dat je neit genoeg materiaal en mensen in China krijgt om zo’n reparatie uit te voeren. Je zit toch met VISA, import beperkingen, etc.

Ben wel benieuwd of ze dan wel op tijd zijn voor leg 6!

Trouwens ook wel bijzonder dat de kop van het artikel is dat ze de in-port race missen, maar de kern is eigenlijk dat ze leg 5 missen!

De PR van de VOR begint wel echt de boot te missen hoor!
Ik zelf kijk eigenlijk alleen nog maar de tracker tijdens de etappes, verder kom ik niet op de site van VOR, niettemin omdat er gewoon niets gemeld wordt...
