Hi all members and especially Dennis,
As Dennis told, I found out Zeilersforum quite lately and I registered on 12 September. From then on, I regularly check forum. Due to being not Dutch speaker I just read your posts and try to understand where, when and with witch equipments you sail and try to improve my technical knowledge about terrain.
Well, as this is my first public post, here is a little about me:
I’m Kivanc, 27 years old male, an expat living in the Netherlands since 2007. Recently I moved to Delft. I’m a software engineer specialized in Microsoft technologies and work for an international USA based software company. I describe myself as a friendly and handy man, easygoing and reliable on any conditions.
Sailing was my big dream for years, but now as a newbie, with every book I read, every day I rent a valk sailor, I feel a step closer. This summer, I started sailing and my wife and I sailed in Kaagplassen for many weekends. Then, I responded a post (
http://www.zeilersforum.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7973) and with his 40 feet jeanneau, in 7-8 force wind, we had a great day. From then on, I look more opportunities to be involved an activity as a crew. And meanwhile I started saving every cent I have
to buy a starter boat.
I’m aware the planned trip for Pinkster is a challenging but also pleasant. I believe this trip will teach us a lot about sailing and life aboard. So we’re really keen to meet with you, discuss the details and see if it’s doable for the skipper and for us.
Just an additional info, my wife and I need visa to sail to UK. But hey, we don’t want to risk anybody but ourselves in the first line. If one of you will be so kind to invite us to sail together, visa is totally our problem to apply pay and get them. We, without any question, are ready to show valid visas before departure.
I know exceptions always sound a little bit uncomfortable, but if you have any questions about our situation, I’d be glad to answer them to build a trusty relationship.
Thanks in advance even for thinking us as an option.
Kivanc
