Onderwerp: Parts for Meissner 23 ST-41 winch

Hi there,
I am desperately looking for buying spare parts (gear wheels) for my Meissner winch 23ST-41.
The boat is a Van de Stadt 40 built in Holland in 1992.
Can anybody guide me on who can provide these parts today or recommend a distributor, in Holland, Denmark or anywhere in Europe,
I am not speaking Dutch so please answer in English/Danish/German or French
Please also let me know if this is not the right place to write this kind of articles,

Hi, You could try it here, they claim to have spare parts for Meissner winches

The Dutch company 'Holmatro' (www.holmatro.com) bought Meissner Winches in 2004 as part of their Marine Equipment division. They closed or sold these activities, but they may possibly help you finding any current service provider.

Given the now long service life of your Meissner winches, although they are known for their exceptional quality, you should also consider to simply declare them 'end-of-life' and sell them as spare parts.

In case you get stuck with the proposed solutions, I have two used Meissner ST23 non self tailing laying on my attic with currently no plan to use.
Could be parts can be harvested.

I already got the answer from Holmatro a couple of weeks ago saying they can't help as they stopped with yacht equipment some years ago,

I might be interested depending on the conditions of the winches and the price you expect though... if you send me some pictures of the open winches with a reference scale (ruler) it would be perfectly welcome.

Hi swblom, thanks for your message. I have successfully fixed my actual problem which does not mean that I will not need more parts in the future.
Btw. I asked you if your winches are 2 speed and if I offer 50€ each it was an acceptable price?

Now I got the parts shipped to Denmark, the price is more than fair (85 EUR) and the quality even better than original (stainless steel instead of bronze)

Since i encountered the same problem i,after reading these posts, contacted Hans directly. (because the link down here is not active anymore)
He does have some Meissner spare parts laying on a shelf, not everything of course. But he is very helpfull. His company manufactured the parts for the Meissner winches which were sold by Holmatro.
At this very moment (may '22) he disclosed some exciting news: they were starting up a new company for classic winches, based on the meissner design, Wich is great news of course: www.classicwinches.com/winches
