Onderwerp: Advice on sailboats - Wibo 930 and Torenvliet 940

Hello fellow sailors,

Its now approaching 10 years since I sailed passed the Netherlands on my way to the canaries and further with my swedish sailor "Comfort 30". Unfortunately I broke my mast in bad weather outside the canaries and have since lived in the mountains.
Now it is time for me to return to sailing and get a new boat again. And for this I need your advice.

My budget is 10.000 euro, ideally a bit lower. Ideally long keeled, strong boat for crossing oceans. In the near future probably not the longest passages, but Norway - Shetland - Faroe islands, Scotland and so on.
On the Norwegian market my favorite in this segment is Hallberg Rassy 26. I could have enjoyed a bit bigger boat, so I more comfortably can bring wife and kids, but mostly I will sail alone.

Ive looked a bit on international boat sites, and found two in Netherland. Wibo 930 and Torenvliet 940. Can anyone tell me anything about these boats? How are they as ocean going vessels in rough seas? And how are they down bellow?

And if anyone has tips for better boats, please let me know! If they would be sold with a wind vane, or electric autopilot its definitely a pluss, otherwise will have to ad myself.

I think in that budget sooner about Victoire 933 e.g. (Koopmans is certainly more expensive). But the Wibo 930 wil do it also.
Kolibri 900 fits also in your budget and is a fast fin keeled cold moulded ply epoxy composite ocean worthy sailing boat.

As you are pointing out a somewhat smaller boat as your ideal boat in the Norwegian market (the HR 26), what would you think of an Albin Vega?

Bringing your wife and kids would be overcrowding it IMHO, but these boats have proven themselves over time as quite capable.

that is definitely also an option.
Ideally a size of 30-35 feet would be better to accommodate the family when they wanna come along. But most boats I´ve looked at, in the norwegian market at least is too expensive for now, but the solid HR 26 lays right around the price limit.

Ive been made aware of the beauty Laurin 28, as well as the danish classic Bianca 27, which both definitely looks interesting.

Those are sturdy finnish builds. Basically the same hull, 6.6 has a small doghouse Antilla the "flush"deck.
You may find them here. They are rare beasts but there were some for sale for a long time until lately. They seem to be all sold now...
