Onderwerp: RLNI reddingsboot 70-001

Gisterenmiddag lagen we even in Willemstad en daar kwam een opmerkelijke boot de haven binnen, een voormalige Engelse reddingsboot met 70-001 als aanduiding. Duidelijke een ouder schip maar nog altijd met een ontzettend stoer uiterlijk.



Even Googelen en je vindt snel een mooi verhaal over deze boot en waarom hij nu in Nederland rondvaart.

Deze prachtige ex-reddingboot heeft sinds 2017 Maassluis als thuishaven, en ligt daar afgemeerd tegenover de jachthaven. Wij waren in 2018 onderweg naar de Wadden, en zagen het schip in Maassluis binnenkomen. De nog originele Gardner motoren klonken geweldig.



Volgens een verkoopadvertentie uit die tijd is het schip in 1965 in Engeland gebouwd, en in 2004-2007 gerestaureerd en tot jacht omgebouwd.

Refit 2004/2007. 2 x sidedoor in wheelhouse, flighthatches at front and back, several Corian tops, lots of storage, consumes appr. 25 Litres at 10 knots. In terms of technique, this is a very solid and safe lifeboat with original features all around, beautiful and attractive interior with lots of lights. The combination of beautiful lacquered mahogany and light ceilings makes ship quite livable, despite the severe headroom. Modern switchgear, towel dryers in various sinks, ownerscabin in aft with private access (lots of privacy), extra VHF in ownerscabin, many stainless steel handrails, 2 seats in owners cabin, Smeg washingmachine, lots of readinglights, extra coollade in 5th cabin, guests can stay in frontship (1-2 pers, cabin with bathroom ensuite, spacious shower/toilet for guests, engineroom accessible from saloon and via frontship, solid bulkhead between both enginerooms, folding mast, 1 x liferaft, asbest has been removed and new insulation has been applied during refit. Alphatron intercom, JRC Navtex original ruddel indicator, CSI 850 engine control panel, 4 x camera system, 2 x Speich/Genova windows, view from wheelhouse all around, 2 x sidedoors, stainless steel railings/partially rejuvenated, bilge pump system , 2 x Firepro extiguishers in engineroom, 2 x fuel tanks with diesel pump, the main engines to disable the cylinders each, modern fuse panel, JET pressurized water system, coloured hosing in engineroom, 2 x double fuel filters, Separ separator 2000/10, drinkingwater filter.
