Onderwerp: Volvo stuffing box probleem

Sorry dat ik verhuizen onlangs naar Nederland en mijn nederlands is niet erg goed.

Mijn boot heeft propeller saft en volvo stuffing box.

Voordat, had ik mijn boot in zeewater en geen problemen, maar nu is de boot is in zoet water en na een tijdje de Volvo stuffing box beginnen met een verschrikkelijk lawaai te doen. Aanbrengen van de motor in neutraal en laten wat water dacht dat de Volvo stuffing box oplossen van het probleem voor een tijdje. Iemand moet dit probleem? Bedankt

Maybe English is better?

De-air the seal by squeezing it open untill water leaks out, Then lubricate with silicon grease.

If it made noise, I bet it is destroyed by running uncooled by water without lubricant.

I strongly advice to replace it.

The Allpa "volvo style" seal is (to my belief) better and cheaper.

Goed geprobeerd, nu in het Duits misschien?
Zolang Gui niet aangeeft wat voor hem het beste is, ga je niet zelf maar wat doen. Mogelijk dat het Nederlands beter begrepen wordt en daar is TS zelf al mee begonnen.

In het Duits ben ik overvraagd. Ik biedt wat ik kán

The water should not make a difference. My guess is it's worn.

The thing keeps your boat afloat, so i'd take no risk.

Chances are, when your boat is in fresh water, the water is more shallow. Due to drag through mud, swamp gasses might release and accumulate under your ship. Therefor you need to degass your seal much more often.
If it allready made noise, it might indeed already been destroyed.

Maybe you have problem with balace of your prop, of something on the shaft or prop.
