Hello colleague sailors,
I am a Dutch 47 year old male and would like to meet owners ( > 40 ft) and prepare together a transatlantic crossing (ARC?) season 2013.
I have more than 35 years, of which > 2000 Nm experience within open water, mostly regattas, but never crossed the Atlantic which has become a personal goal before my 50th birthday.
We have owned our own sailing yacht but this wasn’t equipped to perform a transatlantic crossing and my partner isn’t into such an extensive travel (although she supports my actual goal!).
My extra experiences, besides the maritime/nautical, are medical (anaesthesia), cooking (hobby), diving (PADI) and of course my tremendous motivation.
I don’t have any maritime licenses because this wasn’t obligated in my ‘early years’.
I have participated in regatta training for youth at our own yachting club.
I would like to perform this experience with nice and easy going people (at least 3 or 4 in total) to make this a success for all.
