Heb je bij Instellingen | Verbindingen het vinkje bij Garmin gezet? Garmin gebruikt een net iets ander format dan de officiele nmea standaard.

For what my experience exporting to a 12xl Garmin is worth, it would not accept a route as such. But all the wpts appeared on the Garmin's "wpt page".
handheld older Garmins -(I have 4 of various type) do not like the "open" gpx format and don't seem to recognize "RTE".
Even from their own app (Mapsource). You might have to export the gpx from opencpn and use another intermediary application..."Basecamp" or something beyond the Garmin pale.
