Onderwerp: Warmond to Naarden

Good Afternoon,

As Im new in the Dutch sailing waters, I would like to get some help to sail a 1984 First 29 from Warmond to Naarden (through Amsterdam). I have heard that its possible through the Staande Mast Route but has to be done by night.(of course paying for the service).

The plan is to do it second/ third week of October.

No need for the Amsterdam-route. Although scenic, it's (wait)time consuming. I always use the Haarlem-route: Warmond --> Kaagbrug (A44) --> Haarlem --> Brug Zijkanaal C --> Oranjesluizen --> Schellingwouderbrug --> Naarden

Critical bridges:
- Kaagbrug (opens just a few times a day, sometimes only northbound or southbound traffic)
- Brug Zijkanaal C (dito)
- Schellingwouderbrug (on weekdays closed between 16:00-18:00 for rush hour)

You have two options to Naarden. I did the route via Amsterdam on my own last Tuesday night and the route via Haarlem in June.
The route via Amsterdam is shorter, but you will have a broken night. The first bridge at the entrance to the city opens at 11:55 PM. You will then arrive on the other side of the city around 1:30 AM. There you could look for a place to sleep / berth and sail on to Naarden the next day. I left Warmond around 1:00 PM and took plenty of time. If you plan the route more accurately, you can leave later. It is important that you reach the bridge over the A9 and the bridge over the A10 on time. Also keep in mind that some bridges do not open between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM. After the last bridge you can immediately moor to spend the night or if you want to lie more quietly you can spend the night in the Six harbor. For the Six harbor you have to sail a little further and cross the Y (canal).
For the route via Haarlem you need to be at the Lisserbrug at 09:00 (the first bridge after the Kagerplassen). If you reach all bridges on time, you will be in Amsterdam around 5:00 PM. Do not forget to pay for the passage through Haarlem. This is easier if you use the on-off app, otherwise you will have to dock. If you do not make it to the last bridge on time, you will be in Amsterdam around 10 p.m. and can continue the next day. The six haven (harbor) is a good location to spend the night, but Amsterdam Marine is also an option.
For this trip you have to sail a bit on the North Sea Canal. Here you have to pay close attention to commercial shipping / seagoing vessels.
