Silic One is not classified as hazardous to the environment according to the Globally Harmonised System of Classification as implemented by the Classification and Labelling of Products directive within the European Union.
Thank you for highlighting the French report. This certainly appears to be a thorough evaluation of the impact of antifouling coatings. We will of course take the time to review this report and consider the implications. With that in mind we notice that the report concludes that the use of any antifouling represents a compromise between , efficacy, Toxicity, Practicality, and Cost. In that regard Hempel believes that relative to all other antifouling coatings we provide Silic One provides the best balance of these terms, and most importantly to us does so without using biocides and releasing paint resin to the environment through polishing. This product represents a significant technological change for our business and we continue to develop these products to ensure that they have the lowest possible environmental impact whilst returning acceptable levels of efficacy to prevent fouling and the translocation of invasive species, reduce fuel consumption and emissions for power boats, and minimise releases of substances to the environment.
We are confident the Silic One provides a genuine alternative to biocidal based systems and will help us to change the market we are in with respect to making a contribution to Sustainable yachting. I hope you can support us in this initiative. Should you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,

Hum. OK.
